Torrontés Grape

In my search for something unique, I went back to the wine store (I was at yesterday) and found another grape variety, Torrontes. This is a white wine grape from Argentina. After sipping on the undiscovered berry, I enjoyed the honey and floral notes. Quara Torrontes is the name of the wine. The Torrontes grape is not as popular as the Chardonnay grape but I feel if given the chance it will definitely thrive. Cheers!!

Carmenère Grape

Today I wanted to try something different so I stopped at my local wine shop to search for something new. I love Tuesdays, it's 15% off all bottles of wine (I love a deal). After a couple of minutes observing the stock, I came across a type of grape that I have not yet studied, Carménère. Apparently the Carménère grape is a wine grape originally planted in France. This grape later made it's way to Chile. The wine I chose was Quasar Carménère Red Wine. I swirled a splash of the wine in my glass and smelled a burst of black and blue berries. After taking the first sip, I could taste the dark berry flavor along with a long peppery finish. The color of the wine reminds me of grape jelly. I am now a fan of Carménère grapes and will be looking for other wines containing it. I can also foresee this grape used as a blend to create a less intense flavor. Cheers Vino Lovers!

Happy Hour At Boordy Vineyards

I'm here at Boordy Winery for their Thursday happy hour. This place is awesome amazing. They have a live band, farmers market, a cupcake truck, a oyster tent (yum), a pickle bar, ohhh and of course wine. There are so many people here. No offense but there are more kids and babies here than I care to see at an adult happy hour. But that makes this a family affair. So far.... I have tasted raw oysters, old bay flavored pickles, s'more cupcakes and Blush wine . What fun! Hope to see you vino lovers here this summer. Cheers! Enjoy the pictures.

Fire Road

Tonite I'm drinking a new wine. I stopped at a different wine store and they were having a tastings. Fire Road Sauvignon Blanc was on the list for today. At first sip, I fell in love with the clean and crisp flavor of the wine. I actually don't naturally taste a particular fruit in this wine (grapes of course). I would drink Fire Road with pizza, spaghetti or anything with a tomato base. I found this wine at a store on West Nursery Road but it is also sold at Total Wine and More wine store in Towson. Finding this Sauvignon Blanc was a great buy and recommend to all of my vino lovers. Let me know what you think about Fire Road Sauvignon Blanc. Cheers!

Annapolis Wine and Art Festival continued.....

So I enjoyed the Annapolis Wine and Art Festival. The arts and crafts were one of a kind. My favorite winery was Detour Winery. I fell in love with ALL of their wines. I am a very mature drinker and even the fruit wines at this vineyard were awesome. My favorite red wine is Bonfire and my favorite white wine is Pear. I was very surprised to enjoy a sweet white wine but it took me by surprise with the high alcohol content. Bonfire has a spicy red cinnamon flavor that surprised me as well. I had a chance to speak with the winemaker and owner of the winery. It was a great pleasure meeting him as well as his team. I defiantly recommend Detour wines to all of my wine lovers. I will be at the 4th of July event at the vineyard. Can't wait. Hope to see you there. Check out the website for more info... http://www.detourwinery.com/

Wine tasting at Great Grapes

Fun times at the wine event this weekend. They had a aroma tent where we smelled different scents that exist in vino. There was a great cigar tent, one of my secret loves. The cheese tent was nice. I just wish I was able to pick my own cheese. Last year was much better than this years cheese tent. Enjoy the pictures of the event.

Great Grapes Wine Fest- St. Michaels Winery

I had such a awesome fun time at the Great Grapes event in Hunt Valley, MD this weekend. We tasted all that the wineries had to offer but ended up purchasing a blush wine from St. Michaels Winery called Gollywobbler Pink, Sweet Rose Wine. Now I'm not a sweet wine sipper but my best friend is. This blush was really good and too sweet for a Merlot sipper like me. But hey it's summer fun time and a chance to shake things up! Cheers to my fellow wine lovers!!
